This proposal aims to build on progress achieved in recent years – supported in part by NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions funding – by retrofitting an existing mobile treatment trailer with DMAX Plasma’s most advanced technology. Upgrades will include next-generation reactors, plasma generating networks (DPGNs), and a fully automated control system to enable rapid deployment for upcoming field trials and on-site PFAS remediation. A supplemental advanced oxidation process (AOP), part of our new "Plasma+" approach, will also be integrated into the system; this combined technology has demonstrated improved PFAS destruction.
DMAX currently has multiple funded projects and emerging opportunities that require expanded treatment capacity. However, operations are constrained by the availability of a single treatment trailer. Funding from this proposal will support the conversion of an outdated trailer into a second, state-of-the-art mobile system. This expansion will enhance DMAX’s ability to meet field trial commitments, accelerate the path to permanent installations, enable workforce growth, and support regional economic development.
