The EPA funding for PFAS research in agricultural communities is imperative for understanding how to maintain safety in the food supply. A safe food supply ensures continued economic viability for farming communities impacted by PFAS biosolids application. A safe food supply also ensures a healthy workforce. Continued research and support for the EPA requires support from the public, and knowledge about the important work that EPA scientists do. Communication activities are vital to ensure the continued public support of EPA research and scientists.
To date, I have contacted 5 project investigators that have received funding for their EPA STAR projects, and have generated questions for our interviews. Interviews will be conducted between February and May 2026. In January – February 2026, I will select an undergraduate to work with me in the Summer 2026 to work on dissemination and educational materials.
